Welcome to the New Zealand Region of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSANZ)

The Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand is the professional body for cardiologists and those working in the area of cardiology including researchers, scientists, cardiovascular nurses, allied health professionals and other healthcare workers.

The Society is the chief advocacy group for health and education in cardiology and aims to facilitate training, professional development, and improve medical practice to enhance the quality of care for patients with cardiovascular disease.

The CSANZ NZ Regional 2025 Annual Scientific Meeting was held from 23 to 25 May at the Energy Events Centre in Rotorua, where the winners of the CSANZ NZ Regional Awards were announced.

Nurse Investigator’s Award:

Jennifer Roberts – The New Zealand Regional Committee will provide one award valued up to $3500, for Jennifer to attend a CSANZ Annual Scientific Meeting in New Zealand or Australia.

Allied Health Investigator’s Award

Ellen Woodcock – The New Zealand Regional Committee will provide one award valued up to $3500, for Ellen to attend a CSANZ Annual Scientific Meeting in New Zealand or Australia.

Young Investigator’s Award:

Janny Lau – The New Zealand Regional Committee will provide one award valued up to $7500 for Janny to attend an international ASM.

Equity and Diversity Award:

Liam Gilheany-Black – The New Zealand Regional Committee will provide one award valued up to $3500 for Liam to attend a CSANZ Annual Scientific Meeting in New Zealand or Australia.

The 2026 CSANZ NZ regional ASM will be held in Wellington, June 11 – 13 2026.
