Cardiac Nursing Education Day Oct 2021

Forty-two nurses from Christchurch and other South Island centers attended the day in-person, while many others participated via Zoom. Organiser, Maxine Rhodes from CDHB, did a wonderful job co-ordinating the programme and speakers. Maxine gave a great talk herself about Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD).

Here’s a quote from one of the attendees about ‘What you enjoyed most?’

Theo’s passion for his job showed in his presentation. Paul is very knowledgeable. Marilyn was great at answering the questions. Jo had very informative slides. Suzanne had thorough history. Gill’s presentation demonstrated her compassion. Maxine rocks at her job and is very thorough and great with taking the time to answer questions.

Many attendees enjoyed the ECHO for nurses session, including one who went on to say, “Actually I loved all the talks. Loved the case scenarios. The day really helped me apply knowledge to practice.”

Thanks to all involved, both presenters and attendees. Here is a summary of the areas the organisers sought feedback on, and the percentage who ‘mostly/definitely’ agreed with the statements provided:
